Journey so far

  • Feb 2006 SSPL expands steel manufacturing capacity to 100,000 MT per annum.
  • Aug 2008: BIS certification awarded to SSPL for manufacturing of beams and channels for general structural purposes in addition to angles as per IS 2062:2006 and PGCIL approves SSPL for manufacturing of higher sections (MS/HT angles up to sizes of 200 X 200 X 25 mm).
  • Oct 2010: PGCIL approves SSPL for manufacture and supply of Galvanized Tower Structures/ Parts for POWER GRID projects.
  • Nov 2010: APTRANSCO, GETCO, CSPTCL and MSETCL approve SSPL as Transmission Line Tower suppliers and Re-rollers of angles for their projects.
  • Feb 2011: SSPL successfully tests its first 220 KV tower for GRIDCO, Ghana.
  • Nov 2011: SSPL adds capacity to the tune of 12000MT per annum, taking overall capacity to 72,000MT.
  • Mar 2012: SSPL crosses the 5000MT per month mark for in house fabrication and galvanizing and the 60,000MT mark in two and half years of its inception.
  • July 2012: SSPL successfully tests all towers of 400kV, Quad Moose Conductor for SEW Infrastructure, Hyderabad.
  • August 2012: SSPL expands into a new, state of the art plant for manufacturing fasteners.
  • November 2012: Central Organization for Railway Electrification approves SSPL for manufacturing and supply of Galvanized Steel Structures for OHE, including SPS.
  • December 2013: Joint Venture of National Contracting Company & SSPL Steel & Power Ltd. completes linking of critical North-South corridor before time.
  • March 2014: SSPL crosses 60,000MT production mark for the fiscal.
  • January 2015: SSPL launches its fasteners’ division and completes 25 years of its journey.
  • March 2016: SSPL crosses a total of 300,000MT of towers supplies to state and central power utilities.
  • May 2017: SSPL starts off production of high tensile fasteners of 8.8 and 10.9 grades.
  • July 2017: SSPL kicks off India’s most technologically advance acid regeneration plant, bought from Gimeco Impianti, Italy and becomes a benchmark for zero effluent plants.
  • September 2017: ISO EMS.
  • January 2018: SSPL crosses the 15000MT of supplies of fasteners’ in 2 years of its inception, and forays into non transmission line sectors for fasteners.
  • January 2018: SSPL gets approved for supply of fasteners to the Indian Railways.
  • January 2018: SSPL gets credit rating appraisal of “A” from Fitch Ratings.
  • April 2018: SSPL completes over 4,25,000 MT of supplies to various transmission substation utilities, and over 20,000 MT of fasteners .
  • May 2018: SSPL bags first railways electrification order.
  • September 2018: SSPL bags Secondary Steel Sector Award by Ministry of Steel, Government of India.
